Tart made this Surreal artwork shortly after giving itself a drastic haircut. While having hair that long past the shoulders, pulled back into a braid or two, is a gorgeous feminine style, trying to look any masculine was impossible. Tart experienced a whole new gender expression and reveled in it. The truth of Tart's queerness was finding a way.
